This evening (July 15, 2024), Mr. Sermsak Pongpanich, Minister of Tourism and Sports, presided over the presentation of the 2025 tourism marketing direction by TAT. Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, presented alongside executives, honored guests, and the media.
Mr. Sermsak Pongpanich, revealed that, as per the government's directive, tourism is a pivotal driver of Thailand's economy under the IGNITE TOURISM THAILAND policy. The goal is to position Thailand as a regional tourism hub, focusing on:
1. Transforming Thailand's tourism image towards sustainable and high-value tourism.
2. Prioritizing high-spending, long-staying quality tourists with environmental responsibility.
3. Enhancing tourism supply chain readiness.
4. Upholding sustainable standards and promoting tourism distribution to ensure fair and widespread income distribution.
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of TAT, emphasized that 2025 marks a challenging year for Thai tourism, striving towards the grand "Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism Year" aligned with the IGNITE TOURISM THAILAND policy. This includes stimulating travel demand, shaping tourism supply from start to finish, developing product quality and services to meet tourist expectations, through comprehensive 360-degree partnerships for sustainable economic growth.
In 2025, TAT highlights "Charm of Thailand" and "Must-Visit Cities" as premier products that stimulate tourist demand, expand markets, and increase provincial visitation. "Charm of Thailand" aligns with the government's "5 Must Do in Thailand" concept, while "Must-Visit Cities" aims to enhance their appeal, implementing city marketing strategies to develop secondary cities into major tourism hubs. The goal is to maintain high season tourism throughout the year.
Furthermore, TAT is confident that 2025 will be an Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism Year, a monumental step forward for Thai tourism, stronger and more resilient than ever.
