Today (8 July 2024), Ms. Natthriya Thaweevong, Chairman of the TAT Board, presided over the integrated planning meeting for the 2025 Thailand Tourism Action Plan (TATAP 2025). The meeting aimed to set the goals, direction, and operational plan for the TAT in 2025,
following the TAT’s annual planning process. The meeting was attended by board members, executives, staff, and media representatives. Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the TAT, presented a report to the meeting and collaborated in policy formulation for various plans. The meeting also reviewed operational results, problems, and obstacles to improve future plans, ultimately positioning Thailand as a tourism hub for global travelers while fully responding to government policies.
Ms. Nattreeya stated that the tourism industry is a crucial mechanism for driving and generating revenue for the country. The government is ready to support and promote TAT’s efforts in all aspects to make next year a significant year for Thai tourism, culminating in the Thailand Grand Tourism Year 2025. The outcomes of this meeting will be presented for consideration at the TAT Board meeting on 12 July and the operational plan will be announced on 15 July 2024.
Ms. Thapanee noted that the 2025 plan must address five future challenges (5C) : Climate Change, designing tourism products and services to align with climate changes; Cost of Living, creating projects that match changing tourist behaviors and living costs; Computer Distortion, tackling misinformation from computer systems such as artificial intelligence (AI) by ensuring AI is trained with accurate text and image data; Cartographic Politics, adapting plans and policies to remain neutral in geopolitical situations; and Cyber Attacks, preparing to counter cyber threats.
The TATAP 2025 meeting is held from 8-11 July 2024 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) in Bangkok.
