The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) ready to send happiness through music at ROCK ON THE BEACH MUSIC FESTIVAL, aiming to boost domestic tourism, revive the country’s economy and support local businesses.

This evening (25 June 2022), Mr. Somchai Harnpakdeepatima, the Vice Governor of Krabi Province and Ms. Thapanee Kiatpaiboon Deputy Governor of Domestic Marketing Tourism Authority of Thailand joined the opening ceremony of ROCK ON THE BEACH MUSIC FESTIVAL in Krabi province under the Thailand Festival Experience project at Port Takola Yacht Marina, Krabi with the aims to boost domestic tourism, revive the country’s economy and support local businesses. The festival is expected to welcome at least 15,000 local and international tourists.
Mr. Somchai Harnpakdeepatima, the Vice Governor of Krabi Province said that “Krabi is honored to be selected as one of the areas to organize ROCK ON THE BEACH MUSIC FESTIVAL. Krabi consists of rich tourism resources and the beautiful Andaman Sea together with its simple lifestyle of the local community as well as the ability to manage the area under the Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) with screening measurements for quality staff and local shops, and its willingness of local people to adopt new normal tourism in order to gain trust and confidence from Thai and international travelers. As of now, there are more than 1,600 local businesses in Krabi which receive SHA and SHA Plus standard showing the high potential of Krabi as one of the main tourist cities in Thailand that will bring Thai tourism back to normal after the COVID-19 pandemic as well as representing the importance of the integration between government, private sector, local sector, and people. The event is believed to be a tool which assists local businesses in Krabi to grow sustainably.
Ms. Thapanee Kiatpaiboon Deputy Governor of Domestic Marketing Tourism Authority of Thailand revealed that “ROCK ON THE BEACH MUSIC FESTIVAL is a beach music activity under the Thailand Festival Experience project focusing on delivering valuable travel experience and special moments through music and welcoming tourists back to the land of Andaman Sea in 2 provinces in the Southern which are Phuket and Krabi. The TAT as an authority to support tourism marketing has entrusted with the government's policy of recovering the tourism industry to be a key driver for the country’s economic growth aiming at quality tourists from both local and international who have high spending and willingness to pay for valuable experiences. The previous ROCK ON THE BEACH MUSIC FESTIVAL holding on 17-19 June 2022 at Dolphin Park, Patong, Phuket was well received by all visitors during its 3 days period with over 16,000 tourists which was more than expected. The concept of the event was The Festival of Ultimate Happiness in the Andaman; a festival which sent waves of happiness throughout the year to tourists who travel to the southern part, delivering valuable experiences and impressive music from well-known artists together with special activities and highlights.”
The ROCK ON THE BEACH MUSIC FESTIVAL has been organized in 2 provinces which are Phuket (17-19 June 2022) and Krabi on 24-26 June 2022. at 15.00 – 22.00 p.m. at Port Takola Yacht Marina, Krabi. The event will be featured with a beach concert performed by ETC., TWOPEE, Ben Chalatit together with a special highlight of southern drone light show under the “The highlight of Andaman” concept presenting the beauty of Andaman Sea. Moreover, the Port Takola Yacht Marina will also be launched to the public for the first time and visitors can enjoy the special experience of luxurious long-tail boat riding. In addition, visitors can also enjoy local performances such as Rong Ngeng dance, Manohra dance, Paa folk musical drama and contemporary show of Welcoming to Krabi, Proud of the south Krabi's Andaman Sky before going shopping for souvenirs from the local community such as Fossil Shell Beach Krabi (Susan Hoi) from Ban Laem Pho community, Rlearn Ba Rlearn Ma honey product from Ban Klong Gom community, Khlong Prasong district as well as famous and tasty local dishes of Krabi in the food and beverage zone such as Ja Na Yum Saap, Ja Chiw Roti, Smith Roasted Duck and beverage from Cafe' 8.98 which all the shop in the event will be using eco-friendly food packaging for sustainability purpose. The TAT has also specially joined forces with tourism businesses in Krabi such as tour companies, hotels/accommodations, restaurants etc. to provide 3,000 coupons of each 200-Baht worth for tourists to use as a discount when buying food and local products during the event. The TAT believes that this event will be one of the tools to help boost the economy and domestic tourism of both local and international travelers and distribute income to the local community as well as generate a good tourism image for Krabi and nearby areas.
The ROCK ON THE BEACH MUSIC FESTIVAL is free of charge with a shuttle service (Ao Nang-Port Takola route) of 3 minibuses per day with a capacity of 12-15 people on each bus from 15.00 – 22.00 p.m., a service of a luxurious long-tail boat (Port Black Mud Crab - Port Takola route) with limitation of 150 people per day from 17.00 – 22.00 p.m. for free. The festival will be organized under the Amazing Thailand Safety & Health Administration (SHA) with Covid Free Event model in which all participants have to show the evidence of at least 3 Covid-19 vaccines or a negative antigen test kit result within 72 hours. Body temperature measurement and restricted food area (mask-free area) will also be applied in the event. All participants must follow D-M-H-T-T measures in order to build trust and tourism safety for all participants with the new normal model.
